Democratizing education thanks to VR
To bring Myanmar’s education into the 21st century, 360ed is banking on virtual and augmented reality, with a €4 cardboard headset combined with a smartphone. For students, 360ed offers interactive augmented reality learning through textbooks. VR footage brings students to the locations studied in geography classes. VR lets students personally experience what they are learning about by immersion. Teachers can also be trained by observing their colleagues around the world and virtually visiting classrooms in Finland or Japan.
Thanks to a frugal innovation, technology becomes a way to democratize education. For both students and teachers, virtual reality allows an unprivileged public to open to the world and expand its teaching and learning skills.
