A digital Chupa Chups for virtual tasting
The researcher Nimesha Ranasinghe at the National University of Singapore (NUS), is developing a digital lollipop that simulates different tastes. This lollipop does not yet resemble what we would call a lollipop and its shape is still a bit “rough”: on one side a computer from which you control the virtual taste, and on the other electrodes that you put in your mouth. You simply place the device on the tip of your tongue and let it diffuse the virtual taste to your taste buds, spotted by IHCES.
